The first step to bidding and buying at Copart auctions is to register. Registration is completely free and fast. Submit your documents to start bidding on vehicles.

There are two types of bids at Copart.

Preliminary Bids

Once the vehicle is on the Copart site, if you are registered and have submitted your documents, you can place preliminary bids ("pre-bids") at any time up to one hour before the start of the live auction. Preliminary bids will be represented during the live auction and can be considered as the winning bid if no other bidder submits a higher bid during the preliminary or live auction phase. In case of a tie between the preliminary and live bid amounts, the person bidding in the live auction is considered the highest bidder on the item.

 

Live Bids (during the auction)

During a live online auction, if a person places a bid and it is the highest, they win the vehicle purchase (subject to seller approval).
